Ocean Deepener
When you are comfortable, I would like you to gently close your eyes and focus your attention onto the sound of my voice.
As you listen now, I would like you to become aware of your body and how your clothes feel against your skin.
Can you imagine feeling completely relaxed? I wonder if you could take a nice deep breath in, and as you release the breath slowly, let go of all the tension in those muscles around your body.
You already know how to breathe deeply so allow yourself to enjoy all the sensations of a deep breath in and breathing out all the tensions as you relax.
Short pause.
As your breathing returns to its normal pace you know that each gentle out-breath can lead to more and more relaxation.
Paying attention to your breathing can help you relax even more.
This is your own special time that you have set aside just for you, because you don’t need to be anywhere or do anything apart from concentrate on your breathing and relax all those muscles.
Any sounds you may hear around you only add to take you deeper and deeper, knowing that you can return to your normal state of consciousness if you need to.
Right here, you are safe, supported and relaxed. Sooner or later you'll find yourself wondering about going into an even deeper state of relaxation, and you may do that suddenly or gradually.
As you do this, you feel your body becoming heavier and heavier as every muscle in your body begins to let go as you sink deeper – and deeper – into this wonderful feeling of peace and tranquillity.
Your body is so comfortable and knows that it is safe and supported.
And I wonder if you will allow yourself to truly - let go - as you go deeper and deeper into relaxation.
As you do, allow your mind to drift away, now; you are slowing down, feeling more at ease and even more relaxed.
And would you now like to imagine your beloved ocean as you stand on the beach looking out at the miles and miles of open water.
The water goes on - and on - until it reaches the horizon where you know it continues to ebb - and - flow.
You hear the gentle rhythm of the tide as the waves softly fold into themselves as they reach the shoreline.
This continuous movement is ever-flowing, effortlessly.
The soothing sounds are all around you.
And I want you to notice how your breathing is in time with the waves now, the continual ebb - and flow - taking you deeper and deeper.
You can feel the heat of the sun on your body.
And as you stand there on the beach, notice the colours of the ocean in front of you; notice the way the sunlight dances on the surface of the water.
Is the ocean pale blue, mottled green, deep blue or turquoise?
Notice all the different hues of the deep, deep ocean as the colours merge and join each other, calling you, calling you to join them and become part of the sea – soon, soon.
Every time you hear the water lapping on the beach, you go deeper – and deeper.
As you breathe in all the colours of the ocean, you feel a tremendous sense of peace and space.
The texture of the sand underneath your feet is warm and smooth and you become aware of your feet gradually sinking deeper and deeper into the soft sand.
You take one step into the ocean and notice how your body reacts as the ice-cold water covers your toes and spreads to your ankles.
The thrill of the water sends a delicious sensation throughout your body and you allow yourself to smile as you know this is your time now for complete - freedom.
And you walk slowly into the water, first to up to your shins and then over your knees and as you do this, you release any tension left there.
Any tension can be left on the beach as you focus your mind on allowing that ice-cold water to spread a deep sense of relaxation throughout your body.
You are stepping up to your thighs now and all the time breathing out that deep sense of relaxation and freedom of being in the ice-cold water.
I wonder if you will allow yourself to gently fall into the sea, feeling the healing energy reaching every part of your body.
Experience the thrill of the cold water easing away all the tensions in your body as it ripples across your skin covering every part of your body.
You are safe and supported.
You begin to swim and with every stroke that you take, it takes you deeper - and deeper - into relaxation.
You are now at one with the ocean; you are peaceful and deeply, relaxed.
The sea is cradling you, lulling you into a deep state of relaxation.
As you look back at the beach and allow yourself to be gently lifted by the waves, you can see how the sun is beginning to set as it turns the beach from soft yellow, to burnt orange and slowly, very slowly to a deep red.
The warmth and vibrancy of the early evening sun can be felt by your entire body giving you a rich, warm glow, as you watch the colours melting into each other - more mellow and fluid than ever before.
You turn over now and float on your back, feeling yourself supported by the sea and enjoying the gentle rocking motion and rhythm of the ocean as you go deeper and deeper into relaxation, you simply float away.
I would like you to be aware of the next ten waves slowly and rhythmically lifting your body up – and down - as you float effortlessly on your back.
As I count the waves, you go deeper and deeper.
10, 9, 8 you are going deeper now, 7, 6, 5 so deep, 4, 3, 2, 1 cocooned, safe and at peace, floating in the deep ocean.
As you lie there in a deep state of relaxation, I want you to harness the power and strength of the ocean.
Experience now, the way the sea constantly repairs itself enabling it to heal from within.
The sea believes its power to heal.
Know that as you feel the constant ebb and flow of the sea giving oxygen and life to the depths beneath, the sea is repairing itself, breathing new life into previously damaged areas.
As the oxygen enters the surface it is brought down - and down - to greater depths through the sinking and circulation of the water.
Soothing, repairing, and healing.
The sea continues to do its work around you, churning up unwanted material which sits on the surface and once on the surface it is no longer part of the ocean and is soon washed up and discarded.
The sea continues to do this, cleansing, discarding unhealthy elements and replenishing the nutrients which helps the ocean to maintain its safe and happy equilibrium.
As you lie there bearing witness to the healing efforts of the sea, you feel at one with the ocean – soaking in all its wisdom and understanding of how the sea helps itself, discarding any waste or damage that has no place in there.
That healing life energy is so clear to you now.
Sometimes the sea needs help when the pollution becomes too much.
Sending in teams to clear up the damage, the sea gradually begins to fight back and takes control of its own wellbeing and health.
The sea gets all the help it needs to scope up all the damaged areas, expelling them out, returning the sea to its beautiful, natural, healthy state.
Sense the freedom the ocean has when it is free from pollution, free from debris – clean, true and alive.
Experience the very essence of the deep blue ocean, your deep blue ocean represents health, vitality and restoration.
As you lie there being part of this healing process, you know your body is doing what it needs to do to get rid of those cells which are polluting it.
Being part of the ocean demonstrates that you have made a decision today to help your body to heal.
Your subconscious mind knows how to heal your body from within as you feel that great sense of release as your body starts to heal itself.

Acknowledge there are things outside of your control but also things you can do to help your body to heal.
Your body knows how to repair itself.
You have to trust that your body knows what to do just as the sea knows what to do.
And just as the sea accepts help from the outside, so too can your body accept the help it needs.
Each healthy cell in your body knows how to communicate with one another to push out the unhealthy cells, making way for health and vitality.
Each positive thought you have sends healing signals across your body, slowly repairing all the damaged areas.
The wisdom of the ocean is right there for you as you feel a strength rising up within you.
This strength of knowledge, of healing, of immense power reminds you that every day you are getting better and better.
Remain there for a moment and enjoying the constant ebb – and flow - of the ocean, your ocean that is safely welcoming you to be a part of this healing process.

Feel yourself being gently rocked by the sea back – and forth – supporting, protecting and healing.

In a moment, and when you are ready, you are going to leave the ocean, bringing with you that deep sense of well-being and health. I am going to count the numbers from 1 to 5.
When I reach number 5 you will feel even better about yourself and the healing that has taken place.
You will feel refreshed, energised and ready for the day ahead. 1, 2, 3, coming back slowly now, 4, that’s right, eyelids begin to flutter and 5 – wide awake, back with me now, refreshed and ready to continue your day.
